Approaching Essay Questions In-Person
You have been given your essay question(s) on a course you’re studying and you have a few weeks to get the assignment written and submitted. So, now what? This workshop is designed to help students get started on an essay, and to make essay questions less daunting. It looks at the different types of essay questions students often face, how we can break down the questions and assess what is required, the early stages of brainstorming, planning and mapping our ideas, as well as how we conquer ‘blank white page’ syndrome and actually begin writing. Students will be given a range of essay questions on which to focus in groups, but you are invited to bring your own course assignments to the workshop.
