Increase the Impact of Your Research Through an Effective Publishing Strategy


This presentation will look at some of the ways you can develop a publishing strategy to help increase the impact of your research.

There are many different channels for publishing research including journals articles, books, book chapters, reports and blogs. This presentation will look briefly at book publishing but will deal in more depth with journal publishing. It will also look at how you can maximise the impact of your research through a variety of means such as collaboration, increasing your discoverability and visibility, and how to communicate, promote and monitor your research output.

    • Ensuring you are easily identifiable 
    • Ensuring your research output is visible 

  • Promoting & Monitoring your research outputs
    • Social media (e.g. blogs, Twitter, social networks)
    • Tracking citations & mentions of your work
